Shastra (Context): Shansanadavaa Shastram | (Niruktam)
The context which rules over every other context is called “Shastra”. Ruling here signifies : The guidance of people for there good and bad Act, that means the works which will lead to the world(Ehlaukik) and beyond the world(Parlaukik) or which act performed by the individual will lead to its progression or regression. The above said features are satisfied and told in brief by the subject is referred to as “Shastra”.
We can say in different form, auspicious and inauspicious act which lead to acceptable Attitude(Pravriti) or abandoning (Nivriti) of work, is performed by the Shastra (Context).
Pravritivraa Nivritivraa nityen kratken vaa |

The Ayurvedic Context : The context which explains the Subtle or Esoteric subjects, generally are known as Context (Shastra). “Governance”and its Explanation”are the most important characteristics of the context. Till the speck Ayurvedic context is taken into consideration, Prevention of health and curative treatment of disease are the basic object or governance of physical and mental subtle and esoteric fact.
Shastra pramanya (Evidence of contexts) : The instructions scholars came up with are referred as Shastra. Scholars are free from luxuries, the dark and happy side of life that is why they are away from the shackles of doubts, truth and reality of the fact. This is the main reason that their teachings are un-doubtful. The knowledge which cannot be attained by the knowledge of evidences and it even don’t fall in the boundaries of these evidences, is truly attained from the essence of Shastra. The most considerable, most followed and the most acceptable is the knowledge by our great, true and dutiful scholars. Through the power of Tapasya (A form of Meditation) and knowledge, the scholars who keep full knowledge of past, present and future is referred to as Shastra. This is the sole reason that context (Sharstra) are evidence themselves.
This is how, Triaphorism (Hetu, Ling and Aushadh) is a reliable, saintly, glorious, salubrity and allowance of context (Shastra). Although Ayurveda itself, is an evidence full context and it also proves the evidence of Vedic Literature. There are different Adjures, which are provided by Ayurveda, for positive health by providing different ways which are correct for an individual’s being and command.
The words(shabd) which are even once kept out from the learned mouth of scholars become evidence for the context, themselves. These all are synonyms in ref to Text or Ayurvedic context.
Although the basic and sole aim of all the scholars and the evidences provided by them is to provide every being with ultimate goal of their life : Moksha through Spituality.
For studying medicine, the first thing to be done is to Find a suitable text to be fallowed. According to charaka, the qualities denoted by the suitable text are :
Being the book behind, popular faces of the medicinal experts.
Suggested by the experts and provides proper idea and foundation.
A lot developed intellectually.
The one whose ideas are considerable enough.
Does not consist of any kind of defect and obligations.
This does not consist of any expression denoting the things, which are not acceptable.
Being systematic, it forms an order.
Have no virtual existence and with clear explanations
Having very proper and clear aspects to deal with and Is accessible and reader friendly with proper definitions and examples.
That individual, who is wise enough and seeks himself as physician (Vaidya) or so, should take the full context or matter into consideration with proper contradictions. That means he should be sincere in the work and have proper notice of the results coming with the keen look of after-effects and with the notice of time and place.
There are various kind of context found in the society, amongst them one should select which one is appropriate according to the criteria given above in our description. One should also keep in mind that, this context is for every kind of student starting from dull, average and covering the catching aspects of intelligent. The one who is free from repetition, directly announced by the mouth of sages and is taken in consideration by the all-and-one is the context we are talking about. It has been described by Shushruta as follows:
Tatra yanmanyet sumudydhsh sivdheerpurushasevitmarthbahulamaaptjanpujittam, trividhashishybuudhihitampagatpunruktdoshamarsham supranitsutra bhashysangrahkramam svadharmanavpatitshabadamkashabdam pushklabhidhanam kramagtarthamarthatatva vinishyypradhanam sangatarthamsamkulprakarmaashuprabodkam lakshanvacchodaharnvachah, tadbhiprapdyet shastram |
Shastram hyovyamvidham mal evaditystymo vidhuy prakashyati sarvam ||3||
Another important fact to bring to your notice is, that what are the proper characteristics of scholars who are the sole directioners of us:
The one who is free from rajas and tamas (luxuries and worldly relations and things), is wholly covered by the strength of meditation, penance and knowledge leading to spirituality. Whose knowledge is free from any kind of bias or defect. The facts which are shown by him are true whether in the past, present or future. The person having these kind of characteristics are referred to as “The Aapta” i.e. Scholars. It has been inscribed in Charak as follows:
Rajastyamobhytaam Nirmuktaastpodyaanbalen y| yeshaam trikaalmamlam gyaanmvyaahtam sdaa|| 17||
Aaptah shishta vibudhaasty tesham vakyamsanshyam| satyam, vakshyanti te kasmaadsatyam neerajstmaaah ||

The eagle view over this signifies that : Ayurveda gives us knowledge and intellect of Aetiology, symptomology and therapeutics. It makes us known for the best way by which we can take care of the ill or maintain the healthy individuality of the individual. It is said by the scholars that this Ayurveda was given by Brahma who is known as the creator itself. He provided many ways like the sick individual, tri-aphorismic, it is being continued from the time-memorial.
Characteristics of the Outstanding Context : It is important for the intelligent individual while searching for a quality context to keep in mind that : While reading or going through this, what will he attain? Will it make his way good? Is it relevant and useful according to the culture, religion and traditions of the society. He should always keep in mind that it is mandatory to know that “Which context is the best for the individual, according to his needs, wishes and desires?”
The answer lies on the other side of this question which signifies the characteristics of this context:
The context which contains brief description of all its disciple subjects is called “Uttam-Shastra”. There is a single saying in this context which is not repeated again and again that : The individual who is not intelligent enough or not with good catching powers should also be capable of understanding the texts and make it through.
The context who has all the above characteristics with the 9 relevant characters, is called the “Uttam-Shastra”.
You can refer to this Uttam-Shastra simply as : Like Lord sun provides enlightenment to the individual, soul and its subject, in the same way mind and intellect are enlightened by Uttam-Shastra by removing darkness of mind and soul.
You can define this as follows(as mentioned in the shastra) :
Tasyaayushah punytamo vedo vedvidaam matah || vakshyateh yanmanusyanam lokyoorubhyohritam ||43||
The scholars and match of vedas regard that these veda of that Ayus are the most scared and virtuous on. This is considered as good for both the worlds which belong to Human-Beings.
|| Viivdhhani hi shastrani bishjaa prachranti lokeh ||
The wise who wish to be scholar should determinate and lead a life and follow all the rules as inscribed in the above text. So, it is to be followed in the guidance of scholars.
